COALAR Grant Round General Information
The Council invites funding applications annually from individuals and organisations for projects that demonstrate the potential for the development of long-term links and cooperation between individuals and institutions in Australia and their counterparts in Latin America. COALAR grants are intended to provide seed funds for innovative proposals relevant to the goals and mission of the Council stated in the 2011 - 2014 Strategic Plan.
The Council gives priority to funding projects in the following areas:
- Business
- Education
- Tourism
- Sustainability
- Cultural Promotion (including sport).
Goals
COALAR provides funding for projects which further the goals of the Council:
- To enhance and strengthen links between Australia and Latin America, particularly in the areas of business, education, science, sport, sustainability, tourism and cultural promotion;
- To influence corporate Australia to initiate closer engagement with Latin America; and
- To increase awareness and understanding of Australia in Latin America, and of Latin America in Australia.
While it is envisaged that the majority of grants would be for proposals of between $20,000 and $40,000, the COALAR Board will also consider those proposals of lesser or greater value that will generate a high profile and high value impact in the countries involved.
All applications are assessed against the Grant Program Guidelines and 2011- 14 Strategic Plan.
Approved Grants will be advertised within seven working days of the finalisation of the Funding Agreement.
